James C. Erickson has been recognized as one of the foremost lawyer/lobbyists in the State of Minnesota for almost four decades, practicing at the local, state and federal levels of government. Since 1998, he has represented a limited number of major clients through his lobby and consulting firm, Solomon Strategies Group (SSG). As a “virtual” firm, SSG engages and manages additional resources as required to best and fully serve its major client’s needs.

During his 25-year lawyer/lobbyist career at Larkin Hoffman Daly and Lindgren, Jim created and led the first highly-regarded Governmental Relations practice area at a major Twin Cities law firm. He was one of the original “Super Lawyers” in his specialty when that designation was established by Law and Politics magazine. Erickson also served as President of Larkin Hoffman for five years. In 1998, he established an independent governmental and business consulting practice to more specifically serve major clients with strategic, cost effective individual counsel and advice. As Chairman of the Governmental Relations department, he hired and trained many of Minnesota’s leading lawyer/lobbyists, several of whom went on to hold public office. Erickson’s lobbying expertise, reputation and record of accomplishment were instrumental in the growth of Larkin Hoffman to major firm status. In the 80’s, Larkin, Hoffman was known to including the largest and most effective lawyer/lobbyist team at the Capitol.
