SOLOMON STRATEGIES GROUP was founded in 1998, after Jim Erickson concluded his 25-year career at Larkin, Hoffman, Daly and Lindgren law firm. Jim joined the then eight-lawyer firm in 1973, helping to grow it to 80 lawyers during his long service in firm management, on its board, and as its President from 1990 to 1996.

SSG has grown and prospered based on its Founder’s commitment to its clients and facilitating their close relationship with public officials at all levels of government. As a full-service Governmental Relations, Public Affairs, Lobbying and Business Consulting firm, SSG provides its clients with the highest level of expertise and access to Minnesota’s public servants, elected or appointed, at all levels of government.

SSG Principals Tom Streitz and Carrie Ruud, and Associates Edward Lief, Alex Streitz and Farhio Khalif bring a combined over 100 years of experience in dealing with all levels of government and representing businesses and non-profits in the public policy arena.

SSG asks its clients “what do you need done,” and then does it. It does not charge by the hour, but rather based on a fixed monthly retainer fee, structured to help make SSG a net positive contributor to the financial and business success of its clients. This allows the client to budget exactly for SSG’s professional services, rather that fear an unknown cost when opening the invoice. SSG is committed to providing more value added to the client than its services cost.

Solomon Strategies Group generally represents some 20 clients, both for-profit and non-profit. Many of the entities served by SSG are long-term, year-round clients, evidencing their understanding of the value of the guidance and cost-effective services provided, as well as the results achieved. Others retain SSG to accomplish a specific task on a short or medium-term timeline. In either case, SSG is all about results, and the close relationships it maintains with clients and public officials alike.
